How the Point System Works
There are several ways for a Holdem Northwest player to achieve points.
Every player each regular, weekly tournament game receives points.
The more players in the game, the more points are awarded.
The higher you finish, the more points you achieve.
1st place: 10 times the total number of players.
2nd place: 9 times.
3rd place: 8 times.
4th place: 7 times.
5th place: 6 times.
6th place: 5 times.
7th place: 4 times.
8th place: 3 times.
9th place: 2 times.
10th place: 1 times.
11th – 16th place: 0.5 times.
Everyone else will receive 5 points.
Your points do not expire. Points may be used for entry into monthly tournaments where prizes are awarded to the top finishers.
Points may also be earned in the following ways.
Heads-Up challenge: Both players start with $5,000 in chips. The winner of the challenge receives 25 points. The defeated player receives 10 points.
Bounties: Every regular, weekly tournament game has one player identified as the Bounty. The Bounty is the player who won the game the previous week. (If the winner is not in attendance at the beginning of the game, the Bounty will be assigned to the highest finisher in attendance). When the Bounty is removed from the game, all players still in the game will split 100 points with the Bounty, (minimum of 10 points). The Assassin, (the player who takes the Bounty out), will be awarded an additional 25 points.
100 points extra will be awarded to any new player.
100 points extra will be awarded any player who introduces a new player to the league.
500 points extra will be awarded any player who achieves a Straight-Flush.
1,000 points extra will be awarded any player who achieves a Royal-Flush.
Any player, who wins two games in one night at the same venue, when both games had a population of 16 players or more, will receive double points for the night.
From time to time, double points for everyone will be announced at a particular venue.
Points are transferrable. Players may choose to transfer an amount of points from their account to that of another player. This is common at monthly tournaments when another player may not have enough points to enter. This type of transfer is called “sponsorship”, and may be conditional. All point transfers are subject to approval by the management of Holdem Northwest.
Although points will not be removed, accounts that have shown no activity after six months will not be published, until the player returns.
