As an alternative to our usual “skill enhancement table” or consolation games, select venues are now also offering a different way to play while waiting for the next regular game.

HEAD'S-UP CHALLENGE GAMES

When two players agree to play, we will provide cards and chips, and those players will play “heads up” until there is a winner. Starting stacks are T5,000. Blinds start at 100/200 and do not advance.

Breaks can be taken by agreement between the players.

Each player risks five points from their “bank” and the league adds five points per game. This means that the winner receives ten points, and the loser loses five points in the standings.

Results will also be posted separately from regular tournament play, so that players can track the best heads up players.

This format is only offered by Holdem Northwest. As with all of our innovations, it is a work in progress. After you have given it a try, let us know how it can be improved.
